Qu had asked all members of the PR team to create their personal accounts, according to the person, who requested anonymity. A former Baidu employee said Qu brought Huawei’s aggressive corporate culture with her to Baidu.

The landslide happened on Tuesday night in the town of Maco in the province of Davao de Oro, burying homes and two buses, which a provincial official said were carrying more than two dozen passengers. The number of missing had risen to 110 from the more than 40 previously reported, Maco's disaster agency said in a statement posted on its social media account, adding more than 1,166 families had been evacuated from their homes. Torrential rains have battered Davao de Oro in recent weeks, triggering floods and landslides. Rosa Cristina Rosete-Manuel, spokesperson for the military's Eastern Command helping lead the rescue operations, said rescuers remained hopeful of finding survivors.

Polls had indicated a tossup between Economy Minister Sergio Massa and libertarian TV pundit Javier Milei. Massa, a 51-year-old lawyer who has directed the economy as inflation rose to 143%, has sought to distance himself from the unpopular ruling Peronist government, promising to deliver a “moderate and centrist” administration.

In a statement on Saturday, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and its Office of the Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression, condemned the attorney general's office's "incessant improper actions and interference." "Maybe a few will vote for Peronism," she said from her home in the province of Santa Cruz. "I grew up in a Peronist family, and I'm planning to vote blank," Marcela, a retired school teacher, said from the ice cream parlor she now runs in El Chalten, a village in Santa Cruz province. Cristina Casañas-Judd and General Judd thought they would live in the same home in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, for the rest of their lives. After renting the brownstone apartment for more than a decade and raising their two daughters, Najal, now 22, and Rafia, 13, there, the couple had started talking to their landlord about buying the building, and had even begun drawing up renovation plans. But after their landlord died in 2015, the remaining owner had a change of heart and the deal evaporated. “It was devastating,” said Ms. Casañas-Judd, 52, who runs the interiors firm Me and General Design with Mr. Judd, 60. “My dreams were shattered, and I was just like, ‘I’ve got to go.’”
